Jeremy, thanks for the comment. I don’t think that you are “overspiritualizing” anything. I think that the Bible is FULL of gems to live by.
Sometimes I’ll be reading a business book (secular, if you will) and come across something so valuable that it makes me stop and say, “you know what, THAT’S in the bible.
Sometimes, for me anyway, reading other authors (Christian and not) makes me remember and cherish some of those “gems” that are there.

Thanks for all the info. I just stumbled across this blog a couple days ago. It is amazing how much practical every day information will help in what ever area you are working in. It is not hard stuff but at the same time it can be just because we forget the basic stuff and get caught up in these complicated schemes on how to do things. And the best thing about basic common sense, it is free. We don’t have to pour a ton of money into marketing plans and ideas when it is common sense.
I run a website at http://www.vasoutherngospel.com as a free service to gospel artists, fans, promoters, and churches that are from VA or coming through the VA area. It started out as something as simple as posting VA concert dates to a central place online and now we have blossomed into the Virginia Gospel Music Association with some pretty neat partnerships. We are still in process and always changing things whenever we see a need and depending on how we are able to serve our people better. And that is something that is important, is the willingness to change if you are not doing something right or something that will serve the most people to its fullest potential. I think that is something that was addressed here earlier. One of our main goals is quality across all areas. Hopefully what we do exemplifies that.
I am going to say this, not to over spiritualize everything but just because it is practical. There are a lot of biblical principles that we can follow that will help us out immensely. Case and point, John Maxwell is taking simple biblical principles to a secular world and presenting them. That same secular business world thinks they are revolutionary. There was something mentioned about business coaching. That is essentially a glorified accountability partner. Increasing fan base and loyalty by giving stuff away. There is a lot of that stuff that can be easily found, we just have to keep our eyes open to it.
I am looking forward to following this blog because I know I have a lot to learn about these very same things. The moment we claim ourselves and experts and become unteachable, then we are done for. We never “arrive.”

I would suggest maybe a little more hands on computer work to illustrate some of the examples….Also, any discussions on how to obtain more engagements and how to obtain more financial support by how you do the engagement or present your ministry. Because I am extremely poor at even thinking about love offerings and how to present our ministry to the audience that we are in front of…
